What would you say If you are using computer and suddenly some Application or Windows update comes? You would think that this update should not come at this time, You can permanently disable Application and Windows Update, enable it back and perform manual updates.
How To Disable Windows Update Permanently?
Update of applications is as important as work for us, but when we are working on something important and suddenly Microsoft Windows Update pops up, our computer performance gets affected and internet speed slows down. To permanently disable Microsoft Windows Update, follow the steps below.
Please take note that there are three ways to permanently disable Microsoft Windows Update.
First Step:-
Click on the start button in computer
Type RUN in Search bar and select the Run option.
Type "services.msc" in RUN and click "ok"
Now Double-click on "Windows Update" option after choosing it.
From the General tab startup type, choose Disable, then click Stop.
You may now turn off Windows Update by clicking apply and ok.
Second Step:-
Type Regedit in the Run box.
Click on the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE tab
Click on the Software
Click on the Policies
Click on the Microsoft
Click on the Windows
Third Step:-
Click on the start button
Type RUN in search bar and select the Run option.
Type GPEDIT.MSC in the Run box.
Once we have successfully stopped Windows Update, you can restart it by using the same procedure.

ReplyDeleteI have followed the previous instructions to stop Win updates. As most have found none are successful. I have tried this meathod and found it works.
Goto Services
Select Windows Update
Right click properties
Change Logon to from Local System account to your username
Enter an incorrect password press OK
Windows Update will not be able to authenticate so will not update.
